lst SAHPA Temora 2003

Brian Donovan

Many people around Australia will know of Brian Donovan of Virginia through the Adelaide 10,000.

Brian was Loft Manager for the first six years, and all will agree did a Magnificent job.

Last year (2003) was his first year free of the worry of the One-Loft Race and most Club Mates at Salisbury thought he would once again be the one to beat, especially in the longer races.

They weren't wrong with Brian taking out the Temora Race despite plenty of favoured Lofts missing out. Both Parents of the Temora Winner were bred by Grant Paterson & gifted to Brian.

Brian is one of Pigeon Racing's characters. He's always laughing and looking at the brighter side.

He has the perfect set-up for Pigeons with spacious Lofts and lots of land, but with it come the Falcons and the never ending squadrons of scrubber Pigeons flying back and forth over Brian's Loft going to the Cattle feed lots of Two Wells.

It must be sheer hell on Race day trying to sort out a Race Bird from a wild one.

Brian's Dad Harold raced Pigeons for many years and had a Eucla Winner that made its mark on SA Breeding.

Normally Brian's loft doesn't fire until late Season due to his commitment to the 10,000 Race, but this year proved the same until the last couple of weeks.
