lst SAHPA The Twins 2003

Scott & Sharon Carpenter

When two Pigeon flying Families come together you'd expect something special and there was no surprise when Scott & Sharon Carpenter won The Twins in 2003.

Scott a Plumber by Trade, flew Pigeons from a North-Eastern Adelaide Suburb as a lad, whilst Sharon was formerly SAHPA Secretary, whilst helping her father Larry Mayne race pigeons in the nineties.

Many good judges believed Larry's success stemmed mainly from Sharon's fastidious care for the birds and the dedication of the entire family made them a major force for a number of years.

Marriage and setting up a new Home Family meant a few years out of the Sport for Sharon & Scott, but they were back with their first Major Winner as a team in 2003.

They live at Gawler West, only a stone's throw from Club-mate Peter Antoney.

Scott always had good pigeons, but was forced to give up his old bloodlines of Delsars and Goodgers when he married. Sharon's family had great success with the Imported Birds.

Ask anyone who has re-located and they will tell you how tough it is to get going again. It takes time and often the Birds that fly well in one location do not appreciate somewhere different.

Now that the Winners are flowing again you can expect more from the Carpenters.
