MINUTES OF THE S.A.H.P.A. Inc. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING HELD AT THE S.A.H.P.A. Inc. HEADQUARTERS ON MONDAY 21ST AUGUST 2006 – 7.30 pm. 1. CHAIRPERSON OPENED MEETING AT: 7.35 pm Attendance: Mr. D. Thalbourne (Chairperson) Mr. P. Couzner, Mr. F. DiMella, Mr. J. Marafiote, Mr. W. Moyle, Mr. K. Pridham, Mr. R. Seedsman (General Secretary). 2. APOLOGIES: Nil 3. TREASURER’S MONTHLY REPORT: The Treasurer presented his Report for the Period 1st December 2005 through to the 31st July 2006. The Report indicates that a Profit has been recorded for this Period, which is slightly up in respect to the same period last year. The likelihood of maintaining a Profit will hinge on the Bird Nominations over the remaining stages of the Race Program. At this stage the current Bird Numbers are approximately 3000 above pre-season estimations. 6. CORRESPONDENCE IN: 1. Convoyer’s Reports for – Pinnaroo 2, Lyndhurst Y.B.C., Ouyen (1), Lyndhurst Open, & Ouyen (2). 2. Email from Mr. D. Hutchins – Advising that the Tea Tree Gully Club Is winding up. Action: Mr. F. DiMella informed the meeting that he has been advised that all Tea Tree Gully Club Funds will be donated to Charity. 3. From the Promotions Sub- Committee – Minutes of Meeting held on 1st August 2006. Points of Interest ุ Purchase of Caps, Shirts etc. ุ Warren March has contacted the Murray Bridge High School, and suggested making contact with Urrbrae Agricultural High School. ุ A review of the Animal Expo Presentation for 2007. 4. Email from the Hyde Park Pigeon Club – Requesting confirmation Of qualification for Birds competing in the Lyndhurst Y.B.C. Action: Flyers sent to all Clubs regarding Qualification. 5. Letter from Mr. R. Somerville – Barossa Valley Racing Pigeon Club – Outlining the Events leading to a Member’s Clock being damaged at the Clubrooms, and the processes involved regarding an Insurance Claim. Action: Secretary to reply. 6. Proposal from Chubb Electronic Security – Quotation for the Monitoring & Security for S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Headquarters. Action: Further Investigation required in respect to Call-out Fees etc. Held over until next Meeting. 7. Proposal from Andrew Cole – Quotation for the Monitoring & Security for S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Headquarters. Action: Held over until Next Meeting. 8. Letter from the Royal Agricultural & Horticultural Society of S.A. Inc – enclosing two (2) entry show passes for our Volunteer Staff at This years Exhibition Stand. 7. CORRESPONDENCE OUT: 1. Letter to the North Suburban Club – In respect to the correct Bird Numbers being put into Hampers on Hamper Nights. 2. Email to Hyde Park Pigeon Club – Regarding the stipulation for Qualifying Young Birds in the Lyndhurst Y.B.C. 3. Letter to the Promotion Sub – Committee – Enclosing information Received in regards to the 2007 Animal Expo for their attention in respect to the Organizing of the Association Exhibition. 4. Letters to the Southern Vales Inv. Racing Pigeon Club & Para Hills Community Inv. Racing Pigeon Club – Advising them that the Management Committee stand by their Decision of Naming the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Hall – the “Bill Walford Hall”. 5. Letter to the Royal Agricultural & Horticultural Society of S.A. Inc. - Requesting Royal Show Passes for our Volunteer Staff who look after the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Purchase of Pigeon Apparel: (Caps & Polo Shirts) Secretary to investigate quotes for the purchasing of 100 of each. 2. Presentation Evening: Held Over 3. S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Electorates – (Delegates Meeting) The Electorate Representatives on the Management Committee will be holding Meetings with the Members of their Electorate to discuss the 2007 Race Program as follows: NORTHERN ELECTORATE – MR P COUZNER Monday 4th September 7.30 pm - S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Headquarters. HILLS ELECTORATE – MR J MARAFIOTE Monday 11th September 7.30 pm - S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Headquarters. SOUTHERN ELECTORATE – MR W MOYLE Monday 11th September 7.30 pm -Southern Federation Hall. EASTERN ELECTORATE – MR F DIMELLA Wednesday 13th September 7.30 pm - S.A.H.P.A. Inc Headquarters. WESTERN ELECTORATE – MR K PRIDHAM Mr. K. Pridham to advise Members of Date, Time & Venue. These Meetings are in accordance with the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Constitution – The Committee of Management – Rule 22 – 30) Members are reminded that these Meetings are to discuss the 2007 Race Program and not the Lines of Flight. In accordance with R.B.L. 30 – The Lines of Flight for the 2007 & 2008 Season are Nth. Nth/West and East. 4. Clock Reading Night – Clock Reading & Processing - S.A.H.P.A. Headquarters – Coober Pedy: The Management Committee have decided to hold a Social Event in conjunction with the Association Race from Coober Pedy. For Clubs who wish to attend the Evening -BBQ & Salads will be supplied - refreshments can be purchased from the Canteen. *All Members who are competing in this Event, will be required to participate in a check print at their Clubrooms on Saturday Evening if the Birds are home on the day. All Clocks will be Read & Processed on Sunday Night. The General Secretary will contact Clubs in the near future to confirm their intentions with regards to their attendance 5. Royal Adelaide Show – Exhibition Stand: Once again Mr. B. Mahomet has kindly volunteered his Services for this years Royal Adelaide Show Exhibition Stand. If any Member would be able to assist Mr. Mahomet, by volunteering a few hours in the afternoon it would be greatly appreciated. The Exhibition Stand endeavours to promote the Sport of Racing Pigeons to the General Public. 6. Vin Blanden Memorial Race: This year’s Vin Blanden Memorial Race will be held from Coleambally – 14th October – One (1) Bird Nomination - $5.00 – S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Trophy. “VB” to be placed alongside Nominated Bird on Nomination Sheet. 7. Birds per Hamper: Club Secretaries – Please Note: Could all Clubs please allocate twenty two (22) Birds per Hamper for the Twins event, and all remaining Races on the program. This is an endeavour to have a maximum of forty four (44) Birds per Bay for all remaining Races. 9. MEETING CLOSED: 10.05 pm 10. DATE OF NEXT MEETING: Monday 18th September 2006 – 7.30 pm
