MINUTES OF THE S.A.H.P.A. Inc MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING HELD AT THE S.A.H.P.A. Inc. HEADQUARTERS ON MONDAY 22nd JANUARY 2007. 1. CHAIRPERSON OPENED MEETING AT: 7.35 pm Attendance: Mr D Thalbourne (Chairperson), Mr P Couzner, Mr F DiMella, Mr J Marafiote, Mr W Moyle, Mr K Pridham, Mr R Seedsman (General Secretary), Mrs C Myers (Assistant Secretary). 2. TREASURER’S MONTHLY REPORT: The Treasurer presented a copy of the Auditor’s Report to the Management Committee for the year ended 30th November 2006, a copy of which will be forwarded to Members along with advice of the 2007 A.G.M. The Treasurer explained to the Management Committee that the Auditor recommends the utilization of a Cash Register in the Canteen, to provide a record of Income. The present Cash Register will be sent for service/repair or if the need arises a new Cash Register will be purchased in order to address the Auditor’s recommendations. 6. CORRESPONDENCE IN: 1. Email from Adelaide Hills Racing Pigeon Club – Notice of Motion for Members’ consideration at the 2007 A.G.M. A Short Distance Championship be conducted during what is currently Known as “Club Races”. Action: Secretary to advise a full list of Notice of Motions for Members’ consideration in one process in Accordance with the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Constitution. 2. From Mr D Thalbourne – Application for the Position of S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Chairperson for the 2007 Season. Action: Mr Thalbourne’s application for S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Chairperson will be considered by Members at the 2007 A.G.M. 3. Minutes of the Promotion Sub-Committee – Meeting held on the 9th January 2007. Points of Interest · Approx 50% of the Apparel has sold with very limited opportunity. Suggest we notify Members in the Newsletter of its availability. · The idea of an “8” Ball Competition is to be placed in the Newsletter. Can it be placed on the Website? · It was suggested to run a raffle to raise some funds for the Promotion sub-committee - originally the Promotion’s Committee used money raised through the Canteen. · D Thalbourne obtained a price of $0.80c each for biros for the Animal Expo, but a minimum order of 350. He is continuing to seek other prices. D Thalbourne also looked at using the local Newspaper to promote the Sport. · A Journalist would have to be approached and a format arrived at. This was G Hamilton’s opinion, as he has experience in this area. · The suggestion to invite Schools to the S.A.H.P.A. needs to gain momentum, and the running of DVD’s needs a modern wide screen TV. The Good Guys at Parafield have a 42” HiSense (3 Year warranty) LCD for $2500 or a Samsung 32” LCE (Slim Line) TV for $1400. The Promotions Sub-Committee are urging the Management Committee to look to the future and buy one of these to allow not only the Promotion Sub-Committee to utilise it, but all Members. Any Seminar held by the S.A.H.P.A. will have this facility at their disposal as well. You cannot promote our Sport without the MEANS to do so. · Judy Billing has made up a key ring to give out at the Animal Expo. It was the Promotions Sub-Committees’ opinion that her offer was excellent, and she can proceed. Thanks to Judy and her helper for their assistance. 4. From Mr A Agar – Application for the Position of S.A.H.PA. Inc Web-Site Manager for the 2007 Season. Action: Secretary to file for when Applications are being considered. 6. From Mr R Billing – Application for the Position of S.A.H.PA. Inc. Convoyer for the 2007 Season. Action: Secretary to file for when Applications are being considered. 7. From Mr A Agar – Request the implementation of Broadband Internet Hours options for Web-Site Page. Action: The Management Committee have approved Mr Agar’s request. Secretary to liaise with Mr Agar in respect to the implementation of Broadband Internet Service and costings. 10. Racing Pigeon Club – in Response to the Club’s letter expressing their disappointment in regards to the Management Committees’ decision to cancel the last two (2) Races on the 2006 Program. 2. Letter to Mr T Langsford – in response to his concerns as to the Suggestions raised by Mr F DiMella and Mr K Pridham in respect to ways of raising Prize Money for S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Races. 3. Ballot Papers – Forwarded to all Northern Electorate Members for Their consideration in regards to the Northern Electorate Candidate of their choice to represent them on the S.A.H.P.A Inc. Inc. with the exception of the Adelaide Pigeon Club (who pay a fee based on a certain formula) pay a Fee of $15.00 per Member. The $15.00 Fee is to consist of a $5.00 Membership Fee and a $10.00 Fee for convoying on the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Unit. All relevant Cartage Fees per Bird are applicable. 9. MEETING CLOSED: 10.10 pm 10.
