MEETING HELD AT THE S.A.H.P.A. Inc. HEADQUARTERS
ON MONDAY – 20th March 2006 – 7.30 pm.

5. MATTERS HELD OVER:

1. Letter received from Messrs. A. Gaertner & D. Shaw – Regarding their
Application to join the Vitesse Racing Pigeon Club being refused.  Action:
The Management Committee believe that based on the facts received from the Vitesse Club, that there are insufficient grounds for Messrs. Gaertner & Shaw to be refused Membership.

3. Business Arising from the A.G.M.

1. Special Races

The Management Committee will seek interest from Clubs as to having two (2) Special Middle Distance Races on the opposite Line of Flight to the Main Event.

2. Bird Qualification

The Management Committee have decided that all Birds that compete in the last Two (2) Races on each Line of Flight must qualify for these Races by having at least one (1) Race on the relevant Line of Flight.

3. Benzing Clocks

In regards to the addition of New Clock By-law (14B) – ratified at the 2006 A.G.M. in the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Constitution – which states that –
All Benzing Clocks where the Race Rubber Receptacle has no Spring Loaded Cap attached to same are required to use Thimbles.

Benzing Brass Thimbles are available from Chown & Power Pty. Ltd at a cost of $3.00 ea.

6. TREASURER’S MONTHLY REPORT:

The Treasurer presented his report for the period 1st December 2005 through to 28th February 2006.

The report indicates a Profit has been recorded for this period, with no Major issues of concern.

7. CORRESPONDENCE IN:

1. Letter from the West Torrens Inv. Homing Club – Advising of Office  Bearers for the 2006 Season – also advising change of address for all  Correspondence.

2. Letter from the City of Pt. Adelaide/Enfield – Acknowledging receipt of Change of Address for all future Correspondence.

3. Email from Promotions Sub-Committee – Minutes of Meeting held on 17th January 2006.

Points of Interest

o The costing of Pigeon Apparel (Caps, T/Shirts etc)
o Special Race for Public Participation
o Contact with Promotion’s Director of Nova
o School Topics ongoing, review of format for S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Year Book (M. Shepherdson)

4. Letter from Workcover Corporation – advising that they have appointed
Employers Mutual Limited (EML) as their Claims Manager for the next five (5) years commencing on the 1st July 2006.

Updated Letter received - notifying take-over will now be on the 1st April 2006.

5. Email/Letter from Mr. G. Cawte – Applications for the positions of
Vice-Chairperson, Loading Steward, and Race Adjudicator the 2006 Season.  Action:  Mr. G. Cawte’s applications for Loading Steward & Race Adjudicator for the 2006 Season has been approved.

      6.   Email from Mr. G. Nimmo – Application for the position of Unit Cleaner for
the 2006 Season.  Action:   Mr. G. Nimmo’s application for Unit Cleaner for the 2006 Season has been approved.

      7. Email from Mr. G. Whitney – Application for the position of Junior
 Co-ordinator for the 2006 Season.  Action:  Mr. G. Whitney’s application for
 Junior Co-ordinator for the 2006 Season has been approved.

      8. Letter from Smithfield Inv. Racing Pigeon Club – enclosing 2006
       Membership List.

      9. Email from Mr. D. Hutchins – Advising that he is the only Member of  the Tea Tree Gully Club for the 2006 Season, therefore all correspondence  to be sent to him.

10. Letter from Strathalbyn Homing Pigeon Club Inc. – Enclosing
2006 Membership List.

11. Email from Pt. Adelaide Nth Club – advising of Mr. P. Brown’s acceptance As a Member & requires a G.P.S. Reading.

     12. Letter from the Parkholme Racing Pigeon Club Inc. – Application to join  the S.A.H.P.A. Inc., attaching a Membership List and a copy of the Club’s
 Rules & Regulations.  Action:  The Parkholme Racing Pigeon Club Inc  Application to join the S.A.H.P.A. inc has been approved.  General Secretary
 To advise in regards to updating the Club’s Rules & Regulations.

     13. Letter from the Vitesse Racing Pigeon Club – Outlining the reasons for  rejecting Messrs. A. Gaertner & D. Shaw’s application to become Members.

     14.  Email from Mr. S. Kearsey (V.H.A.) – Enquiring into the Computer Generated Result System used by the S.A.H.P.A. Inc.  Action:  Mr. G. Harris
To respond to Mr. Kearsey’s request.

     15.  Insurance Proposal Form – Director’s & Officer’s Liability Insurance  Proposal Form from Eastern Equity Insurance Brokers.  Action:  Secretary to
 Complete form and return.

16. Letter from Mr. John Sloan Wilson – Expressing his views as how to increase Bird Numbers on the Main Unit.  Action:  The Management Committee Thank Mr. Wilson for his views, and can assure him they have the interest of The Association at heart.

    17.  Email from the Promotions Committee – Update information with regards to  the Meeting that was held with Nova FM.

18. Email from Central Federation – Enclosing Office Bearers for the 2006 Season.  Chairperson/Secretary – Mr. G. Watson, Treasurer – Mr. K. Bowen.
Also enclosing a Flyer regarding the Central Federations proposals for Flying the 2006 Season.  Action:  Secretary to file for future Reference

  19. Email from S.A.R.P.F. – Requesting that the Ring Secretary do a random check of Bird Ownership during the 2006 Season.  Action:  The S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Ring Secretary is only obliged to check Ownership in respect to S.A.H.P.A. Races.

  20. Email from S.R.C. Committee  - Confirmation of Race Dates for Alice Springs – 8.9.06 – Hampering on Tuesday 5.9.06 - $15.00 per Bird.  Cock Birds Special – 2.9.06 – Moulamein - $6.00 per Bird (10 Bird Limit) – Sires

21. Letter from Smithfield Racing Pigeon Club – Advising of the outcome in Regards to a Dispute between two of its Members.  Action:  Secretary to file.

22. Fax from Hampton Haulage – Tender for Freight Cost for the 2006 Season. Action:  Secretary to file for when Tenders are considered.

23.  Fax from Magill Grain Store – Tender for the Cost of Feed & Straw  Medium for the 2006 Season.  Action: Secretary to file for when Tenders

     24.  Letter from the Hyde Park Homing Pigeon Club – Enclosing copies of  Letters sent to the Happy Valley Racing Pigeon Club, Millswood Central  Pigeon Club, Parkholme Racing Pigeon Club & the Adelaide Hills Racing  Pigeon Club in regards to Group Flying etc. for the 2006 Season.

 to obtain a permit for the erection of a Pigeon Loft with the Salisbury Council

     a submission of Tender for Pigeon Feed & Straw Medium for the Main Unit for

9. GENERAL BUSINESS:

1. Firing off Procedure - 2006:

The S.A.H.P.A. Inc. will utilize the Telstra Time Message Service for the Setting & Firing Off of Clocks for the 2006 Season.

2. S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Sub-Committees:

All Sub-Committees are now required to submit their intentions for the 2006 Season.

Any Sub-Committee that intends operating this year, must submit a list of Names of the Committee Members for the Management Committees’ Approval.

3. Freight Tender – 2006:

Freight Tenders are now invited for all Races for 2006 Season.

Tender Submissions are to be enclosed in a Sealed Envelope Marked “Tender for S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Transportation” and to be forwarded to:-

4. Bird Qualification:  2006

ALL YOUNG BIRDS must have flown a Club Race on the Relevant Line of Flight to be eligible to compete in the Derbies.

A Young bird may fly both Derbies, so long as it has flown one (1) Club Race on each Line of Flight.

 *PLEASE NOTE:

 ALL BIRDS must fly at least one (1) Race on the Relevant Line of Flight to  Be eligible to compete in the Last Two (2) Races on each Line of Flight.  i.e.
 In order for a Bird to compete in Marla and Coober Pedy (The last two (2) Races on the North Line) they must have had a previous Race on that respective Line.

 The same applies in respect to Coleambally and Temora on the East Line.

5. Tenders for Pigeon Feed & Straw Medium:

Tenders are invited for the supply of Pigeon Feed and Straw Medium for the Main Unit for the 2006 Season.  Action:  Secretary to contact suitable Suppliers to invite Tenders.

6. Stock Order Night:

Stock Orders with Price List will be forwarded to Club Secretaries by 14th April.

7. S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Headquarters’ Cleaning Contract:

Applications are now being called for the Contract Position of Headquarters’ Cleaning.

The Baulderstone Road Complex is to be cleaned (Toilets, Office, Hall Interior and Canteen Area) once a Fortnight (Minimum) in the Race Season & once a Month in the Off Season.

Applicants will be required to List Price/Quote for the conduct of such Contract.

8. Animal Expo:

The Management Committee would like to acknowledge their Appreciation of the following people for their contribution to the Promotion of the Sport by giving their time at the 2006 Animal Expo.

9. Sealing of Club Hampers – 2006 S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Races:

All Hampers containing Birds to be loaded onto the Main Race Unit –
Must be sealed with Clock Seals at the Club and Numbers recorded.

Seal Numbers will be checked at Random – to ensure security of Birds on route to S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Headquarters.

10. Race Release Panel – 2006

The S.A.H.P.A. Inc. will have a Release Panel consisting of three (3) Members for the 2006 Season.

Mr. F. DiMella, Mr. J. Marafiote & Mr. K. Pridham have offered their services
Again for this Important Role within the S.A.H.P.A. Inc.

11. NPA & ACS Life Rings:

Members Please be AWARE – The S.A.H.P.A. Inc. does not recognize Life Rings with the NPA & ACS Prefix.

Any Birds rung with these Rings will be ineligible to compete in all Races that come under the Jurisdiction of the S.A.H.P.A. Inc.
