MINUTES OF THE S.A.H.P.A. Inc. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING HELD AT THE S.A.H.P.A. Inc. HEADQUARTERS ON SUNDAY 23rd JANUARY 2005 – 2.00 PM. 1. TREASURER’S MONTHLY REPORT: The Treasurer presented the Management Committee with a copy of the Auditor’s Report for the year ending 30th November 2004 for their attention. A copy of the Report along with Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Statements will be issued to all Members along with advice of the 2005 A.G.M. 6. CORRESPONDENCE IN: 1. Letter of Nomination – For the Management Committees’ Consideration – nominating Mr. Ray Fulgrabe for the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Wall of Fame. Signed by Nominator’s Mr. D. Thalbourne & Mr. G. Harris Action: The Nomination of Mr. R. Fulgrabe has been accepted. Mr. D. Thalbourne to organize the Photo for addition to the Wall of Fame. 2. Email from Mr. T. Meekins – Congratulating the Management Committee on their decision to approve the Electronic Timing System. 3. Email from Mr. R. Hawthorn – Regarding the possibility of Novelty Pigeon Race from Victor Harbor, to coincide with the Variety WA Bash. Action: Secretary to seek clarification regarding this event. 4. Email from the Adelaide Pigeon Club – Enclosing a list of Members And a copy of their A.G.M. held on the 12th December 2004. Action: Secretary to file for future reference. 5. Email from Mr. R. Caesarowicz- Requesting the Management Committee modify the Pigeon Mix used on the Main Unit, enclosing His suggestions. Action: The Management Committee are satisfied with the current feed mixture being used to feed the Race Birds on the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Main Unit. – 50% Peas, 30% Wheat, 20% Maize. 6. Email from Mrs. R. Kearns – Application for the Position of Ring Secretary for the 2005 Season. Action: Secretary to file for when Applications are considered. 7. Letter from Mr. D. Schwarz – Application for the Position of Training/Tossing Unit Driver for the 2005 Season. Action: Secretary to file for when Applications are considered. 8. E-mail from Mr. P. Trzeciak – Application for the Position of Race Adjudicator for the 2005 Season. Action: Secretary to file for when Applications are considered. 9. Letter from Mr. R. Seedsman – Application for the Positions of General Secretary & Treasurer for the 2005 Season. Action: Secretary to file for when Applications are considered. 10. E-mail from Mr. A. Agar – Application for the Position of Website Manager for the 2005 Season. Action: Secretary to file for when Applications are considered. 11. Letter from Pt. Adelaide/Enfield Council – Enclosing information Regarding the Development of a Property near the Association Premises. The S.A.H.P.A. Inc. can lodge representation with the Council if they feel there is any Basis for concern regarding the new Development. 12. Email from S.A.R.P.F – Request that the Management Committee Consider a reversal of decision to discontinue Re-imbursement of Ring Money for Season 2006 onwards. Action: The Management Committee can see no reason to reverse their previous decision. 7. CORRESPONDENCE OUT: 1. Letters to all Members of the Eastern & Hills Electorates – Enclosing “Ballot” Papers for the Management Committee Representatives. 2. Letters to all Club Secretaries – Enclosing 2005 Club Membership Forms and Pigeon Pox Vaccination Forms. Moved/Carried – Correspondence In & Out – Confirmed 8. GENERAL BUSINESS: 1. Positions within the S.A.H.P.A: REMINDER! The Cut-off date for the following Positions with the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. is Friday 11TH February 2005. Race Adjudicator S.A.H.P.A. Convoyer Release Officer (Panel 3) Transport Loading Stewards (2) Unit Cleaners (2) Clock Chairperson Website Manager Computer Systems Administrator Publicity Officer Training/Tossing Unit Driver All the above Honorariums will be discussed at a Later Date. Applications to be addressed to: The General Secretary 31 Meath Avenue Salisbury Downs. SA 5108 2. Affiliate Clubs – Membership Fees: All Affiliate Clubs of the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. with the exception of the Adelaide Pigeon Club (Who pay a fee based on a certain formula) pay a Fee of $15.00 per Member. The $15.00 Fee is to consist of $5.00 Membership Fee and a $10.00 Fee for convoying on the S.A.H.P.A. Unit. All relevant Cartage Fees per Bird are applicable. 3. S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Year Book: Information and Photos etc are now in the process of being collated for the 2004 S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Year Book. 4. Block Plans: All New Members – or existing Members who have changed their Residential Address are required to complete a Block Plan for the 2005 Season. A $20.00 Fee must accompany all Block Plans. Block Plans are required to be submitted along with the Club Membership Lists – No later than 28th February 2005. Block Plan Forms can be obtained from Club Secretaries, or by phoning the General Secretary on 8258 2516. 5. Electorate Ballot Votes: The counting of the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Electorate Ballot Votes to decide The two (2) Representatives for Positions on the Management Committee will take place at S.A.H.P.A Headquarters on Monday 14th February 2005 – 7.00 pm. Scrutineers are – Mr David Thalbourne, Mr Ken Pridham, Mr Warren Moyle. Returning Officer – Mrs Cheryl Myers. 6. T & S Edinborough - (Southern Districts) Tony & Sue wish to offer a very big Thankyou to all the Fanciers who Attended his recent disposal auction at the Southern Districts Clubrooms, Lonsdale. Due to Ill Health Tony has sadly had to part with all his Birds. Both Tony & Sue extend good luck to all the Purchasers for future Racing. 7. Channel 7 – Adelaide Animal Expo 2005: We have once again been invited to participate in this year’s event Following the success of last year. The dates this year are March 4th,5th & 6th at the Morphettville Racecourse. Would any Fanciers able to assist during this event please contact David Thalbourne on 8250 3919 A.S.A.P. Thankyou. 8. LIFE MEMBER – MR BRIAN HEALY On behalf of all Members of the S.A.H.P.A. Inc., The Management Committee would like to acknowledge the passing of Life Member – Brian Healy. Brian had a Long and Outstanding association with the S.AH.P.A. - he will be sadly missed. Condolences to Irene & Family. 9. MEETING CLOSED: 3.30 pm. 10.
