MINUTES OF THE S.A.H.P.A. Inc. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING HELD AT THE S.A.H.P.A. Inc. HEADQUARTERS ON MONDAY 18th SEPTEMBER 2006 – 7.30 PM 1. CHAIRPERSON OPENED MEETING AT: 7.30 pm Attendance: Mr. D. Thalbourne (Chairperson), Mr. P. Couzner, Mr. F. DiMella, Mr. J. Marafiote, Mr. W. Moyle, Mr. K. Pridham, Mr. R. Seedsman (General Secretary), Mrs. C. Myers (Assistant Secretary). 2. APOLOGIES: Nil 3. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING: Moved/Seconded/Carried 4. BUSINESS ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MEETING: Nil Moved/Seconded/Carried 5. TREASURER’S MONTHLY REPORT: The Treasurer presented his Report for the period 1st December 2005 through to the 31st August 2006. The Report indicates a Profit has been recorded for the Period, which is mainly due to the increase in Profit from Nominations and the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Training Unit in comparison to the same period of the Previous year. The remainder of the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Race Program will have a bearing in maintaining the current Profit in relation to Bird Nominations as against Transport Costs. 6. CORRESPONDENCE IN: 1. Convoyer’s Reports – Ouyen 3, The Twins, Moulamein S.A.D. & Marla. 2. Southern Vales, Central District & Hyde Park Clubs – Advising that they will not be attending the Social Evening in conjunction with the Coober Pedy Event on the 1st October 2006. 3. Letter from Mr. J. Nisbet – Outlining his attempt to join the Para Hills Community Inv. Racing Pigeon Club as a Non-flying Member. Mr. Nisbet has been declined without any reason given, he therefore requests assistance from the Management Committee. Action: The Management Committee believe that a reason for Refusal should be given to Mr. Nisbet, and will request the Para Hills Community Inv. Racing Pigeon Club address the situation as soon as possible. 7. CORRESPONDENCE OUT: 1. Letters to Mr. R. Oakey & Mr. R. Somerville – Advising them of the current situation in regards to Mr. Oakey’s damaged Benzing Clock. 2. Letter to Mr. W. Walford – Inviting Mr. Walford & His Family to the Social Evening on the 1st October 2006 for the presentation and the Naming of the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Hall as the “William (Bill) Walford Hall” Moved/Carried – Correspondence In & Out - Confirmed 8. MATTERS HELD OVER: 1. Security Contract – S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Premises. Chubb Electronic Security will retain the Contract to Monitor & Service the Security of the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Premises. 2. Trophy Presentation Evening. Walkers Arms Hotel 25th November 2006 7.00 pm - $22.50 per head All Enquiries – Contact – Mrs. C. Myers 9. GENERAL BUSINESS: 1. Pigeon Apparel: One Hundred (100) Caps & Polo Shirts have been ordered and will be Available for purchase shortly. Caps & Shirts will be available for purchase from the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Canteen when they become available. 2. Feedback from Delegate’s Meetings: Points of Interest Raised at the Four Electorate Meetings held so far: 1. Support for Alternate Weekly Racing Support for a Number of North Races First. 2. Support for a couple of short East Line Races (eg Peake) 3. Longer Middle Distance Race Points – especially on the North/North West Line. 4. Concerns of having the last three (3) Races on the East Line. 5. Come-back Races before the Derbies. 6. Association Points to apply from the First (1st) Race or Club Races Champion Flyer. 7. No Bird Qualifications 3. Royal Adelaide Show: The Management Committee would like to Thank Mr. B. Mahomet and Members who assisted with the running of the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Exhibition Stand at this year’s Royal Show. 4. 2007 Race Program: Carried over for Next Meeting – to allow time for the last of the scheduled Delegates Meeting. 5. Alice Springs: The Management Committee will request a Report from the Special Races Committee in regards to the 2006 Alice Springs Event. 6. S.A.H.PA. Inc. Bird of the Year: Nominations for S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Bird of the Year must be lodged with the General Secretary stipulating the Bird Number/Colour and Positions gained in S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Races, as soon as possible after Completion of the last Race. 7. Ring Orders: Please Note – All Ring Orders from now on are to be lodge with the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Ring Secretary – Telephone 8252 9377 – together with Correct Money/Cheque. No Rings will be despatched until full Payment has been received. 10. MEETING CLOSED: 10.15 pm 11.
