3. Code of Practice:

The Management Committee have analysed the Code of Practice, and are now In the process of re-drafting for final consideration.

4. Race Freight Charges for 2003:

Stirling North, Murrayville, Hawker, Parachilna, Mittyack (Club Races) have been set at 70c Bird.

Farina Y.B.C., Farina Open, Booroorban Open, Booroorban S.A.D. have been set at 90c Bird.

Farina 3 Bird Special & Booroorban 3 Bird Special have been set at $5.00 Bird

 The Twins have been set at $1.20 Bird.

 Marla & Temora have been set at $2.70 Bird

 Morundah & Coober Pedy have been set at $1.50 Bird.

Vin Blanden Memorial Race (1 Bird Nomination) Coober Pedy - $5.00 Bird.

1. Chairperson opened Meeting at 2.05 pm Attendance: Mr. D. Thalbourne

3. Guests:  Representatives from the Central Combine, Central Federation, Hampstead, North Suburban & Vitesse Clubs.

Apologies:  Mr. L. Duits & Mr. R. Hocking.

The Management Committee listened to the views and concerns of the Representatives, with a genuine attempt to try and solve this matter.  After consideration it was decided that letters be sent to Mr. R. Hocking & the Chairperson of North Suburban, Hampstead & Vitesse Clubs, with a proposal to solve this ongoing dispute.

4. Interview:  Mr. J. Nisbet.

Mr. J. Nisbet was invited to the Management Committee Meeting in accordance with Rule 9. 5) of the South Australian Homing Pigeon Association Incorporated Constitution.

After consideration of Mr. Nisbet’s explanation, the Management Committee decided that Mr. Nisbet was in breach of Rule 9. 2)

a) Conduct Detrimental to the Association.
b) Breach of the Rules and Regulations of the Association or any of them.

Therefore the Management Committee decided to terminate Mr. Nisbet’s Membership for a period of two (2) years – applicable from the 4th May 2003 up to an including the 4th May 2005.
 
 
 
 
 
 

5. Adelaide Pigeon Club

Interview:  Mr. R. McIlduff & Mr. B. Fretter

Mr. R. McIlduff explained that certain conditions were put in place at the
Formation of the Adelaide Pigeon Club, and asked the Management
Committee if these conditions are being met.

Mr. B. Fretter was unable to attend the meeting, but e-mailed his response to Mr. McIlduff’s allegations.  The Management Committee have requested Mr.B. Fretter’s attendance at the next Committee Meeting.

8. Treasurer’s Report:

Mr. R. Seedsman explained the Financial Accounts of the S.A.H.P.A. Inc.,
Have been audited for the period 1st December 2002 – 31st March 2003.

A Financial Statement for the month of April will be presented at the next
Committee Meeting allowing time for reconciliation of the Monthly Accounts.

9. CORRESPONDENCE  IN:

1. Letter from Smithfield Pigeon Club – Requesting that they have paid Capitation Fees for Mr. G. Harris (Who is no longer flying), would it be possible to transfer the above Capitation Fee to Mr. S. Harwood, who has been accepted as a Member of the Smithfield Club.  Action: Transfer has been approved for Mr. S. Harwood.

2. Letter from S.I.T.A. Environmental Solutions – Advising of an
Increase in rates for Rubbish Disposal – effective 1st April 2003, with a further increase to come into effect as from 1st July 2003.  Action:  Secretary to obtain alternative quotes for Rate Comparison.

3. From V.F.P. Insurance – Advising of transfer of Insurance Cover on S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Equipment at the New Ring Secretary’s Premises as requested by the S.A.H.P.A. General Secretary.  Action:  Secretary to file.

4. From Mr. P. Trzeciak – Tender for the Cleaning of the S.A.H.P.A.
Headquarters.  Action:  Mr. P. Trzeciak’s Tender was unsuccessful

5. Letter from the Woodville Inv. Homing Club:  Advising of amended Membership List for 2003.  Action:  Secretary to note changes.

6. From Mr. I. Durrant:  Returning signed Safety Guideline Form for 2003 Season.  Action:  Secretary to file.

7. Letter from Mr. G. Berridge & Mr R. Oakey:  Applications for Late Membership of the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. for 2003 Season.  Action:  Approval for late applications has been granted.

8. Letter from Buxton & Snyders:  Enclosing $20.00 cheque for payment of Computer Distance Block Plan.

9. E-mail from Mr. J. Lu:  - Requesting Advertising Space on the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Website for his forthcoming Pigeon Sale.  Action:  Secretary to request a $50.00 fee for this Service.

12. Chubb Security Maintenance Inspection Record:  - For General Maintenance check, carried out on the 24.4.03.

North East Club advising of Squeaker Sale to be conducted in their Clubrooms on Friday 16th January, 2004, also advising that the North East & Tea Tree Gully Clubs will be flying as the Plaza Group for the 2003 Season.

17. E-mail from Tea Tree Gully Club:  Advising of Office Bearers for
2003 Season.  Chairperson – G. Hodgins, Secretary – K. Bowen, Treasurer – R. Drury.  Action:  Secretary to note.

Tea Tree Gully Club also seeking permission to conduct its Sires Produce Race on the North Derby for the 2003 Season.  Action:  The Management Committee have approved the Tea Tree Gully Club’s request to fly their Sires Produce in conjunction with the Farina Y.B.C.

18. Late Membership Applications from:  W. Brown, G. Hurrell – Southern Vales Club, A. Gaertner – Payneham.  Action:  Late Memberships have been approved.

19. E-mail From Mr. R. Chapman:  Application for the Casual Position of Vice-Chairperson for the 2003 Season.  Action:  Mr. R. Chapman has been appointed Vice-Chairperson for the 2003 Season.

10. GENERAL BUSINESS

1. “ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS”

The S.A.H.P.A. Inc. General Secretary and the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Management Committee would like to inform ALL MEMBERS that unfortunately there are Certain Elements within our Sport, who would stoop so low as to put ALL MEMBERS of the Association’s Racing Season in Jeopardy.

It is hard to believe that this Person/s could be so vindictive towards their Fellow Fanciers, who receive so much pleasure from this Wonderful Sport of ours.  Perhaps this Person/s should just fade away into oblivion and while doing so, seek some Professional Psychiatric Help.

This Person/s have taken the Liberty of writing a letter to Transport S.A. in regards to the S.A.H.P.A’S Main Race Unit, which had the potential to either Delay the start of the Racing Season or put the entire Racing Season at Risk.

Not only did this Person/s write the letter, but then proceeded to Forge the S.A.H.P.A’S General Secretary’s Signature.

The General Secretary and the Management Committee would like to inform Members THAT THIS MATTER HAS BEEN PLACED IN THE HANDS OF THE ELIZABETH C.I.B. FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION!

The S.A.H.P.A. would like to acknowledge the help of Transport S.A. for their assistance in the possible identification of this Person/s.

5. Collection of Statistics for Season 2003 – Racing Pigeon Returns:

After some discussion the Management Committee are of the opinion that Statistics as to the Return of Birds from S.A.H.P.A Races will apply for the 2003 Season.

These Statistics will be recorded for the purpose of demonstrating to any outside interests that as a Controlling Body we are seen to be responsible for the Welfare of our Birds.

Under no Circumstances will these statistics be made available to any Outside Body without the consent of the Management Committee.

The appropriate forms will be forwarded to Club Secretaries in due course, it would be appreciated if Clubs support this concept, and return their Statistic Sheets to the General Secretary on the Hamper Night following each Race.

6. S.A.H.P.A. Constitution Changes:

Constitution Changes for S.A.H.P.A. Members, can be collected by Club Secretaries for distribution on Stock Night Tuesday 20th May 2003.

7. Computer Operators:

Computer System for Race Results, for 2003 Season.

Ø Any Club requiring a refresher course on gaining a Computer Generated Result for the Club, please contact the General Secretary on 8258.2516.

8. Unit Loading Roster – 2003 Season:

ü Clubs with 1-15 Hampers            –  Send 1 Driver & 2 Loaders.
ü Clubs with 16 or More Hampers – Send 1 Driver & 3 Loaders.
 
 
 
 

When your Club arrives at Headquarters, one (1) Loader is to take the Paper work to the Office Window for Payment etc.  The Driver is to stay with the Vehicle.  The other Loader/s are to keep an eye on the progress of the queue and where applicable, one (1) and or two (2) Loaders are to get up to the Loading at the following time:

 To Help put Hampers away for – “The Vehicle/Unit in front of Your
 Club, Stay for your Club and the two (2) Vehicles/Units Following.

 The more support Clubs give to the Loading Procedure, the
 Quicker the Birds will be loaded – enabling the Birds and Loaders
 Etc. to depart Headquarters a lot earlier.

7. Race Bird Nominations & Phone through to Headquarters:
 
It is the Individual Club’s Responsibility to have Bird Numbers phoned through to Headquarters by 7.45 pm.  This also includes Affiliated Clubs.

8. Life Ring Transfers - $1.00 per Card:
 
Please advise Members that all Transfers are to be forwarded to the Ring Secretary – by the First Race Night.

v All Clubs will be required to lodge their Club Race Results with the Publicity Officer this Season.
v The Results must either be Phoned or Faxed to Ray on 8269.7662 on Saturday Night (up to 9 pm) or Sunday Morning 10 am – 11.30 am.
v Information required is the Number of Flyers and Birds Sent, the First three (3) Placegetters and their Respective Velocities.

Group Association Results:

v Phone or Fax through to Ray on 8269.7662 on Saturday Nights
(up until 9 pm) or Sunday Morning 10 am to 11.30 am.

v Please provide Number of Flyers and Birds for Group.

v Country Cubs can phone through on Saturday Evening and Sunday Morning (Same Times)

For Recorded Race & Release Information – Please ring 8262.3857.  This Service will enable up to twelve (12) Callers at the same time.

A brief message will be heard detailing Release and Weather Details – at the End of the Message, you will hear “This is the end of the Message – Please Hang up now”.

On hearing this message, please hang up immediately to allow other People Access.

DO NOT HANG ON TO LEAVE A RETURN MESSAGE!  - No message will be accepted or listened to!
