MINUTES OF THE S.A.H.P.A. INC. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
MEETING HELD AT THE S.A.H.P.A. HEADQUARTERS ON SUNDAY 29TH  DECEMBER 2002.

1. Chairperson opened Meeting at 2.10 pm Attendance:  Mr. D. Thalbourne
(Chairperson) Mr. J. Nisbet (Vice-Chairperson) Mr. J. Cock, Mr. R. Fewings, Mr. K. Pridham, Mr. P. Couzner, Mr. W. Moyle, Mrs. C. Myers, Mr. R. Seedsman (General Secretary).

4. Business Arising from Previous Meeting:

a) VACCINE ORDERS:

All Clubs/Individuals can now place an order for Pigeon Pox Vaccine with the General Secretary.  The Cost per unit is $105.00

Unless alternative arrangements are made all Orders can be obtained from the General Secretary between 9.00am and 10.00 am at the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Headquarters on Sunday 2nd February 2003.

All Birds competing in Club, S.A.H.P.A. Races and being convoyed on the S.A.H.P.A. Unit for the 2003 Season are to be Vaccinated against Pigeon Pox.  Vaccination Forms verifying same are to be completed by the Club Secretary and forwarded to the General Secretary by 30th April, 2003.

b) 2003 RACE PROGRAM:

After Investigation as to the suitability of Murrayville and Kulwin as Race Points affixed to the 2003 Race Program, the Management Committee have decided that Kulwin is not a Suitable Release Point.

Kulwin will be replaced by Mittyack on the 2003 Race Program.

5. CORRESPONDENCE IN:

1.    Letter From Mr. J. Nisbet – Application for position of S.A.H.P.A. Inc.
        Chairperson’s Position for the 2003 Season.  Action:  Secretary to file for
        Members’ consideration at the 2003 A.G.M.

2. Fax from the Murray Bridge Homing Club Inc. – Advising of Office
Bearers for 2003 Season – Secretary/Treasurer - Mr. G. Rundle, Ring Secretary - Mr. L. Stone.  Action:  Secretary to file for future reference.

3. E-mail from Mr. Ken Roberts - Application for position of Loading Steward for the 2003 Season.  Action:  Secretary to file for when Applications are considered.

4. Letter from Mr. W. Moyle – Applying for the Vacant Management Committee Position to represent the Southern Electorate.  Action:  As the expiry date for nominations has now closed, and Mr. Warren Moyle being the only Applicant for the Southern Electorate.  Mr. Warren Moyle will now hold this position on the Management Committee for the next three (3) years.

5. E-mail from Knox Bird Clinic – Advising of Arrival Date for Pigeon Pox Vaccine and Price per Vial.

6. Cheque from Warrnambool Pigeon Club - $75.00 Trophy Donation for 2003 Season.  Action:  Cheque given to Treasurer for banking.  Secretary to thank the Warrnambool Pigeon Club for their Donation.

7. Letter from Mr. J. Hofman – Including Pictures of a 1,500 Bird Transport Unit for sale, which could be of interest to the S.A.H.P.A. Inc.  Mr. Hofman also included details of a Watering Method for Birds whilst in transit that is used successfully Overseas.  Action:  The Management Committee would like to thank Mr. Hofman for bringing this information to their attention, but have decided to decline from purchasing the 1,500 Bird Unit.

8. Letter from Mr. R. Seedsman – Application for the Position of General Secretary for the 2003 Season.  Action:  Secretary to file, pending further Applications.

9. Letter from Mr. D. Thalbourne – Application for the Position of S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Chairperson for the 2003 Season.  Action:  Secretary to file for Members consideration at the 2003 A.G.M.

10. Letter from Chubb Security – Advising of an Increase in the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Quarterly Routine Maintenance Rate.  Action:  Secretary to forward to Treasurer.

11. Letter from Hampton Haulage – Thanking the Management Committee for their support during the 2002 Season.

12. Letter from The Southern Vales Inv. Racing Pigeon Club Inc.  – Enclosing three (3) “NOTICES OF MOTION” for Members consideration at the 2003 A.G.M.  New Transport Unit, Electronic Timing System, S.A.H.P.A. Journal.
 
 
 
 

THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE DO NOT AGREE WITH THE FOLLOWING “NOTICES OF MOTION” & FEEL THAT IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF ALL MEMBERS OF THE S.A.H.P.A.  THE 2 ISSUES – New Transport Unit & The Electronic Timing System SHOULD BE DISCUSSED UNDER GENERAL BUSINESS AT THE FORTHCOMING A.G.M.

  7. GENERAL BUSINESS:

1.   LIST OF “NOTICE OF MOTIONS” 2003

Notices of Motion for A.G.M. February 2003 – Club Notices –

The Date for Acceptance of Club Notices of Motions has now expired.

Notices of Motion for A.G.M. February 2003 – S.A.H.P.A. Inc. –

       The General Secretary has confirmed that the List of “Notice of
Motions” is now Finalized.  In all there will be eight (8) “Notices of Motion” To consider.

       The eight (8) “Notices of Motions” consist of

ü Management Committee - Four (4)
ü Southern Vales Racing Pigeon Club - Three (3)
ü Vitesse Racing Pigeon Club – One (1)

       The List of “Notice of Motions” will be forwarded to All Members in
      The advice of the A.G.M. being held on Monday 17th February 2003 –
                   7.30 p.m.

       The Management Committee “Notices of Motions” will be included in the        same advice to all Members.  All Members are asked to attend the Annual
       General Meeting.
 
2. VACANCIES FOR S.A.H.P.A. POSITIONS:

The S.A.H.P.A. Management Committee wish to advise ALL MEMBERS that Applications are still being called for several Positions within the Organization.

3. BLOCK PLANS:

All New Members – or existing Members who have changed their Residential Address are required to complete a Block Plan for the 2003 Season.

Block Plans are required to be submitted along with the Club Membership Lists no later than 28th February 2003.

Block Plans can be obtained from Club Secretaries, or by phoning the General Secretary on 8258.2516.

4. CARPETING OF THE S.A.H.P.A. HALL

On behalf of the Members of  the S.A.H.P.A. The Management Committee would like to Thank Mr. Jim Nisbet and Mr. Craig Nisbet for their Outstanding Efforts in the Repairing, Designing and Laying of the Centre Carpet Square in the S.A.H.P.A. Main Hall.

The Management Committee would also like to Thank Discount City for the Donation of the Carpet required to complete this task.

5. S.A.H.P.A. JOURNAL

Members Please Note – The December Issue of the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Journal will be the Final Issue for 2002.  There will be no further Publications of the S.A.H.P.A. Inc. Journal for the time being.

The Continuing Publication of the S.A.H.P.A. Journal will be decided on by Members at the forthcoming A.G.M.
